Laboratory
The Laboratory is an integral part of our hospital here. Each value that we can
obtain from our patient, makes it safer to treat them and with more
effectiveness. There are literally thousands of tests that can be run in a large
laboratory. We at FVSEC pride ourselves on the equipment that we have to assess
our patients. There are however, certain tests that must be sent to larger
laboratories where specialists (such as a pathologist) are handling the most
important of tests.
In our laboratory here we can assess for serum chemistry abnormalities, urine
chemistry abnormalities, parasitology, virus identification, and a number of
other valuable assessments. And because our patients typically are in need of
treatment quickly, we have the best technology to provide that. Analyzers such
as the I-Stat and VetTest provide us with the information we need quickly.
